Front of House Server

John 3:16 Malaysian Delights is looking for a friendly, reliable, and efficient Front of House Server to join our team in Richmond. We’re seeking someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in providing excellent customer service, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Scheduling and Availability

Consistent availability is important for this position. We are currently prioritizing candidates who:

- Are regularly available Monday through Sunday, depending on scheduling needs.
- Can work morning, daytime, and/or evening shifts.
- Can consistently commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week, up to a maximum of 40 hours per week.
- Have flexible availability, particularly Monday through Thursday.
- Are looking for a stable, ongoing position.
- Can work 30–40 hours per week, which is a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service.
- Take customer orders accurately and process payments.
- Learn the menu and confidently answer questions about food and beverages.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and other front-of-house team members.
- Monitor tables and check in with customers throughout their dining experience.
- Maintain clean, organized dining and service areas.
- Work collaboratively with teammates during busy service periods.
- Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and assigned side duties.
- Follow restaurant service standards, food safety practices, and workplace procedures.

What We’re Looking For

- Reliable, punctual, and responsible, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to speak Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) is an asset.




- Friendly and comfortable communicating with customers.
- Able to multitask, stay organized, and prioritize tasks during busy periods.
- Able to work independently after training while contributing to a team.
- Solid communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn the menu, service procedures, and restaurant standards.
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing a great customer experience.

Qualifications

- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- FoodSafe Level 1 or an equivalent food safety certification is preferred.
- Previous restaurant, serving, or customer service experience is an asset, but not required for the right candidate.
