Barry Enterprises Protection & Security Services is seeking Undercover Loss Prevention Agents to conduct plainclothes surveillance, investigate theft, recover merchandise, and support safe retail environments.

This is a hands on role requiring sound judgment, discretion, and accountability. Agents must follow applicable law, client policies, and company procedures. Physical intervention requires appropriate training and authorization.

We are looking for professionals who can blend into a retail workplace, maintain observation, and make disciplined decisions under pressure.

What You’ll Do

Conduct Undercover Surveillance

Monitor activity throughout assigned stores. Identify potential theft through direct observation and review available security footage where authorized.

Verify Before You Act

Complete the required loss prevention observation steps and maintain uninterrupted surveillance. Suspicion alone is not grounds for intervention.

Conduct Authorized Apprehensions

Carry out apprehensions only when the required grounds, training, and client authorization are established. Follow the strict no chase policy and approved intervention procedures.

Recover Merchandise and Preserve Evidence

Document recovered items, preserve relevant footage and evidence, and follow client procedures for handling and returning merchandise.

Coordinate With Police and Store Management

Communicate professionally with designated client contacts and police. Provide clear incident information and support the appropriate handover.

Prepare Accurate Reports

Record incidents, observations, recoveries, and actions taken.



Prepare documentation for investigations and provide testimony when required.

Identify Opportunities to Reduce Loss

Report theft patterns, security vulnerabilities, and recurring concerns. Support practical recommendations to improve prevention and reduce shrink.

Protect Confidentiality and Professional Standards

Maintain discretion, safeguard sensitive information, and represent Barry Enterprises professionally at every location.

What We’re Looking For

- Sound judgment and the ability to remain calm during incidents.
- Strong observation skills, patience, and the ability to work discreetly.
- A demonstrated commitment to protecting people and property safely and professionally.
- Clear written and verbal English for reports, client communication, and testimony.
- High ethical standards, confidentiality, and personal accountability.
- A valid provincial security licence before deployment.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and a reliable personal vehicle.
- Availability to work varied shifts across assigned locations and surrounding areas.
- Previous loss prevention, security, or criminal justice experience is an asset.
- First aid, security education, and relevant professional training are assets.
- Willingness to complete mandatory company training, assessments, and client policy acknowledgments before deployment.





Training and Operational Expectations All agents must complete the required in house loss prevention training and receive deployment approval.

Training covers surveillance, apprehension criteria, de escalation, incident documentation, evidence handling, and client procedures. Approved physical intervention and restraining device training must be completed before those duties are assigned.
