TABER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

Taber Christian School is an Early Learning to Grade 8 alternative school program within The Horizon School Division. Our 33 staff members provide service to approximately 370 students in the town of Taber, Alberta.

Temporary Educational Assistant: approximately 15 hrs/wk

Hours of work include - Monday and Wednesday 8:30 a.m.- 3:15 p.m. and some Fridays

Assignment includes 1:1 support in the areas of life skills, education, and daily tasks.

Taber Christian Alternative School is looking for a flexible and creative Educational Assistant in Kindergarten - one-on-one. This individual will see and act upon teachable moments that encourage stimulation and learning. The successful candidate will be an active team player ready and willing to join our already fantastic group.

An EducationalAssistantin Horizon School Division:

- Encourages studentsto develop and maintainpositiveinteraction.
- Maintains confidentialityand a patient, supportive and enthusiasticcommitmentto students.
- As required, provides personal care including toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, grooming, etc. ensuringthat studentdignity is maintained. Attends to physical needs including lifting, positioning, and range of motion programs as identified by appropriate personnel.
- Ensures the safety of students in the school and community, which includes maintaining close supervision of students, ensuring studentequipment is sanitized and put away, retrieving students who attemptto leave their learningenvironment,



calming and/or restraining students engaged in challenging behaviours; supervising and assisting studentswho utilize a variety of life skill tools (i.e., scissors, cooking utensils, etc.).
- Maintains collegial relationships with the students' learning team.
