Schedule: Part-time, 12 hours per week
Tuesday and Thursday: 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
About the Role
We are looking for a patient, caring childcare qualified to support a 5-year-old child with behavioral needs in a warm family home. The ideal candidate has a background in Early Childhood Assistance (ECA) or equivalent experience and is comfortable using positive, structured approaches to guide a young child through their daily routine.
Responsibilities
Behavioral Guidance and Routine Management: Use patient, positive reinforcement and behavior support strategies to help the child manage routines, stay focused, and meet their behavioral needs.
Academic Assistance: Guide the child through straightforward homework and basic skill-building and learning activities.
Structured Play: Plan and lead creative, positive indoor activities such as coloring, board games, puzzles, art projects,
and interactive play to keep the child constructively engaged.
Outdoor Supervision: Safely accompany the child on walks and outdoor play at the park directly behind the home.
Snack and Meal Preparation: Prepare straightforward, child-friendly snacks and slice fresh fruit throughout the shift.
Light Housekeeping: Keep the child's activity areas tidy, including loading and unloading the dishwasher and folding laundry.
Pet-Friendly Environment: Work comfortably and safely around the family's two rescue dogs.
Qualifications
ECA training or relevant childcare experience (preferred)
Experience supporting children with behavioral needs
Patient, calm, and reliable
Comfortable around dogs
Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 12.0 per week
