Sewer and Water Pipe Layer

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Sewer and Water Pipe Layer to join our underground construction crew in Ontario. The successful candidate will install, repair, and maintain underground sewer, storm, and watermain infrastructure for municipal, commercial, and residential projects.

This role requires physical endurance, attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team workplace.

Responsibilities
Install sewer, storm, and watermain piping according to grade and specifications
Read and interpret construction drawings, grade stakes, and utility locates
Prepare trenches and bedding materials for pipe installation
Align and connect pipe sections using proper installation techniques
Operate hand tools, compactors, lasers, and small equipment safely
Assist with excavation, backfilling, and site cleanup
Ensure all work complies with Ontario safety regulations and project requirements
Work closely with equipment operators, forepersons, and labourers




Perform routine inspections and identify potential installation issues

Qualifications
Previous experience in sewer and watermain pipe laying or underground construction
Knowledge of municipal servicing standards and trench safety procedures
Ability to read grades and construction plans
Valid driver's licence (DZ licence considered an asset)
Experience working around excavators and heavy equipment
Solid work ethic and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks
