Crisis Intervention Worker (Temporary Full-Time, 6-Month Contract)
Location: Elliot Lake, ON
Position Type: Temporary Full time (35 hours per week), Bargaining Unit
Salary: $26.23-$31.30 per hour, based on qualifications and experience, in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
Contract Term: Six (6) months, with possibility of extension
Schedule: 7-hour shift, Monday to Friday

The Counselling Centre of East Algoma (CCEA) is a community-based, non-profit organization providing mental health, addictions, violence against women, crisis intervention, and community support services throughout East Algoma.
We are currently seeking a compassionate, skilled, and community-minded Crisis Intervention Worker to join our team on a temporary full-time basis. This position will provide crisis intervention and support services to individuals experiencing mental health, emotional, or situational crises within our communities.

Position Summary

The Crisis Intervention Worker provides immediate assessment, intervention, support, referral, and follow-up services to individuals experiencing mental health or psychosocial crises. Working collaboratively with community partners, healthcare providers, emergency services, and internal programs, the Crisis Intervention Worker assists clients in identifying strengths, developing safety plans, and connecting with appropriate resources.
The Crisis Intervention Worker will be based in Elliot Lake and provide crisis intervention services to individuals and families across East Algoma. In response to operational needs, the successful candidate may also provide in‑person services in Blind River and other communities within the service area.

Responsibilities

- Conduct crisis assessments and intervention services for individuals experiencing mental health and emotional distress.
