I’m in Oak Bay looking for a warm, dependable part-time caregiver for my two children: a 10-month-old baby and a curious, energetic 6-year-old. Most of the care will be for my 10-month-old, so I’m particularly looking for someone who genuinely enjoys babies and has hands‑on experience caring for children under one.

I’m currently looking for someone who can commit to three regular weekly shifts:

- Tuesdays, 6:00–9:30pm
- Wednesdays, 11:30am–3:30pm
- Saturdays, 7:30–10pm

This is 10.5 regular hours per week, with additional weekday daytime/afternoon hours often available for appointments and other occasional childcare. I’m primarily looking for daytime availability for these additional hours rather than more evenings.

I’d love to find someone who can become a consistent part of our lives rather than simply provide occasional babysitting. My baby is breastfed and strongly attached to me, so I’m looking for someone patient, calm and comfortable building trust gradually.

I’d like to begin with some time together while I’m home and work toward independent care as everyone gets comfortable. Infant feeding, diapering, soothing and eventually helping with bedtime would all be part of the role.

My 6‑year‑old is imaginative, social and loves reading, crafts, music and pretend play.



Some shifts may involve both children, although the primary childcare need is for the baby.

I’m particularly looking for someone who is:

- Experienced and confident with babies under one
- Warm, calm and emotionally attuned
- Someone who genuinely engages and plays with children
- Dependable and interested in a consistent weekly commitment
- Comfortable taking initiative rather than needing detailed direction throughout a shift
- Respectful of our family rhythms and parenting preferences
- Current in infant/child CPR and first aid, or willing to renew certification

Childcare is always the priority, but some light household help during downtime would be wonderful. Things like tidying the kitchen or play areas, folding laundry, or straightforward meal prep would be appreciated when Rumi is sleeping or otherwise doesn’t need your attention.

We’re a non‑smoking household with no pets, located in Oak Bay.
