About the Role The role involves inspiring swimmers of all ages and abilities through engaging, high-quality lessons that build confidence, skills and a lifelong love of the water. The successful candidate will create a secure, supportive and enjoyable learning environment while delivering exceptional member experiences and contributing to the success of the swim programme. This position sits within the Family Activities Team and supports Virgin Active’s evolution into Social Wellness Clubs, where physical, mental, nutritional and social wellbeing are brought together through expert guidance, community, personalised experiences and innovative technology.
Key Responsibilities Promote and deliver all poolside activities and scheduled swimming lessons to the highest standard, creating an exceptional experience for members.
Develop creative and innovative classes following the Swim England (ASA) national plan for Teaching Swimming.
Provide a safe and enjoyable environment for members within the pool and surrounding areas.
Deliver great customer service through personal attention and care to all members.
Maintain accurate records to track attendance and improvements in fitness, ensuring individual, team and department targets are consistently met.
Work closely with Swim management to meet and exceed set targets and objectives and help achieve commercial success within the department and wider Club team.
Required Experience & Qualifications Flexible, friendly and approachable manner.




Ability to connect with members and get on well with people from all walks of life.
Readiness to take on an exciting challenge.
Swim England/ASA Level 2 in Teaching Swimming or STA Level 2 Certificate in Swimming Teaching.
Exceptional communication skills.
Experience in a customer facing environment.
Ability to respond appropriately and professionally to everyone in all manners, including face to face, over the phone and via email correspondence.
