About the opportunity
Our client is a Vancouver-headquartered enterprise software company that sits at the intersection of banking and business software. Their platform lets major banks offer treasury and payment capabilities directly inside the systems their commercial customers already use, removing the friction of logging into a separate portal to move money, approve payments, or reconcile accounts.
We're helping them add a Senior Solutions Engineer to the team that sits between their bank partners, their product organization, and their delivery teams.
This is a highly visible, hands‑on role for someone who enjoys being the technical voice in the room with enterprise clients, and who is as comfortable scoping an integration as they are presenting one.
What you will do
Run tailored product demos for bank partners and prospects, adapting the story to each institution's priorities.
Act as a strategic and technical advisor to partners, helping shape both the solution design and the go‑to‑market approach for new rollouts.
Review bank product and connectivity specs and translate them into clean, deliverable technical solutions.
Partner with sales, product, and services teams to agree on the best launch plan for new capabilities across the partner network.
Own the technical scoping for new engagements, including drafting the detailed specs that feed into Statements of Work.
Build and present pitch material that introduces new functionality to existing partners and prospective ones.
Lead internal initiatives that automate and streamline how the solutions function operates, with a direct line to efficiency and revenue.
Mentor more junior solutions engineers and help set the standard for how the team works.
What you bring
Experience
5+ years in solutions engineering, pre‑sales engineering, technical product management,
or a closely related role, ideally in financial services or FinTech.
You write clear technical documentation: process flows, requirements, and specifications that engineers and bankers can both follow.
You can read dense technical specs and turn them into something a non‑technical stakeholder understands.
Solid working knowledge of secure connectivity: authentication, encryption, secure file and data transmission, and APIs.
Comfortable with common data formats such as XML and JSON.
Actively use AI tooling in your day‑to‑day work, including agent‑style workflows and the Model Context Protocol (MCP), to move faster and raise the quality of your output.
How you work
Strong presenter and communicator who can hold the attention of a technical and a commercial audience in the same meeting.
Natural relationship builder, internally and with external partners.
Self‑directed and organized, able to juggle several initiatives at once and land them on time.
Nice to have
Background in banking, payments, treasury, or FinTech.
Prior time in a consulting or sales‑adjacent seat.
Why this role
Ownership from day one. This is a growth‑stage company, so your remit and your career move faster than they would at a larger organization.
An inclusive, collaborative culture. They are intentional about diversity, equity, and inclusion, and about building a team where people feel they belong.
A well‑rounded package. Competitive base, a semi‑annual bonus plan, extended health and dental, retirement savings matching, parental leave top‑up, top‑of‑the‑line Apple equipment, and a downtown Vancouver office with the usual well‑stocked kitchen and catered team lunches.
Compensation
Targeting $120k-135k+ (adaptable) base plus semi‑annual bonus, extended benefits, and savings/retirement matching.
