About the Role The FC Gameplay team creates the most authentic, engaging and fun football simulation experiences in the world. As a Gameplay Designer, the role is to define, describe, document, communicate and verify features and content that create those experiences for millions of players, combining football knowledge, understanding of FC gameplay mechanics, and the ability to translate them into elegant Gameplay solutions. The role reports to the Game Design Director and works in a hybrid environment at the Vancouver studio.
Key Responsibilities Design, document, develop and balance large gameplay systems and features from concept through to release
Create innovative and engaging gameplay experiences that are unique to game modes within FC
Thoroughly document and communicate the game's design to the team
Incorporate ideas and feedback from across the gameplay team
Mentor junior designers and promote good design principles across the team
Work with animation, art, audio, design, programming, and visual effects to develop features
Give concise and helpful feedback to help improve the game
Contribute to the development of tools and design processes to improve how the team works
Follow direction and justify design decisions based on a shared product vision




Required Experience & Qualifications 3+ years of experience in a game production or design role
Extensive knowledge of game design processes, techniques and principles
Great eye for game quality and empathy for the player
Passion and knowledge of football and the EA SPORTS FC video game franchise
Curiosity and willingness to investigate design topics and in-game issues
Technical proficiency in game development engines and tools
Workplace Hybrid work environment at the Vancouver studio
