Our client, an established public accounting firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant / Tax Preparer to join their growing team.

This opportunity is ideal for an individual working toward their CPA designation or considering the CPA path, with experience in public accounting and an interest in both accounting and taxation. The successful candidate will work directly with small to mid

-sized businesses, owner-managed companies, and individuals, gaining exposure to corporate accounting, year-end engagements, and tax preparation.Responsibilities Prepare corporate, personal, and partnership income tax returns Assist with year-end engagements, including compilation and review files Prepare working papers, account reconciliations, and financial statements Analyze client records and identify discrepancies or areas requiring follow-up Assist with bookkeeping and month-end accounting support for clients Communicate with clients to obtain documentation and resolve accounting inquiries Respond to CRA correspondence and client tax questions Support senior accountants and managers on client engagements Contribute to special projects and process improvements as required Qualifications Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Currently enrolled in the CPA PEP program, planning to pursue CPA, or interested in obtaining a CPA designation in the future2-5 years of public accounting experience preferred Experience preparing personal and corporate tax returns Familiarity with DT Max, Case Ware, Tax Prep, Profile, Quick Books,
