About Us
TAC Builders is a locally owned construction company based in Selkirk, Manitoba, focused on the development and construction of thoughtfully designed multifamily rental communities.
Working alongside Lionheart Developments and Harvest Gate Properties, our team is involved throughout the full life cycle of our projects; from development and construction through to the ongoing management of the completed properties.
We’re a small, close-knit team, which means people aren’t separated by layers of departments. We work collaboratively, help each other when needed and have the opportunity to see how the different parts of the business work together.
Our portfolio is growing. Our completed and upcoming communities go beyond the typical apartment building, incorporating amenities such as fitness facilities, social and multipurpose spaces, saunas and, in a future development, an indoor four-season pool.
Our workplace is friendly, relaxed and down-to-earth, but we take our work and our commitments to one another seriously. We value people who are dependable, willing to step in when they’re needed and invested in doing good work. In return, we believe good working relationships should go both ways, when people give their time and effort to the company, we respect their time and the life they have outside of work.
About the Role
As our business and property portfolio continue to grow, we’re adding a newly created Accountant/Accounts Payable Specialist position to our team.
Reporting directly to the Controller, this is a full time, on-site role that combines day-to-day transactional accounting with broader accounting responsibilities across multiple related companies.
Accounts payable, invoice processing and data entry are meaningful parts of the position, but this is not solely an accounts payable role.
The successful candidate will also gain hands-on experience with multi-entity and property accounting, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, job costing, month-end and year-end processes, fixed assets and financial reporting support.
You’ll begin by learning our established accounting processes and how our companies work together. As you become familiar with the business and demonstrate a strong understanding of those processes, you’ll be encouraged to take increasing ownership of your work, identify opportunities for greater efficiency and bring forward practical solutions and ideas.
There is also room to grow within the role. Initially, you’ll prepare reconciliations, schedules and supporting information used in financial reporting, with the opportunity to expand your knowledge and take on greater responsibility as your experience with the business develops.
