Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Finance Manager to lead and manage our company's accounting and financial operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Canadian accounting practices, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal financial controls. This is a hands-on management role requiring both financial leadership and the ability to independently manage day-to-day accounting activities.

Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is required for effective communication with management and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

- Oversee and manage daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements and accounting reports.
- Maintain accounting records using QuickBooks Online or other accounting systems.
- Supervise and improve accounting procedures and workflows.

Financial Management

- Manage cash flow, budgeting, financial forecasting, and expense control.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to management.
- Monitor inventory valuation, purchasing costs, and operating expenses.
- Develop and maintain effective financial controls and accounting policies.
- Support management with financial planning and business decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Compliance & Reporting

- Oversee GST/PST filings and other applicable tax reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards and applicable regulations.




- Coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors for year-end reporting and tax preparation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential financial records.
- Support accounting system improvements and future ERP implementation.
- Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and warehouse departments to ensure accurate financial information.

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience preferred, including experience managing financial operations.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is required.
- Solid written and verbal English communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of Canadian accounting practices, financial reporting, and tax requirements.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
- Robust Microsoft Excel skills.
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls.
- Ability to independently manage full-cycle accounting operations.
- Strong analytical, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in wholesale, distribution, import/export, or inventory-based businesses is an asset.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- CPA designation is an asset but not required.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
