NO RECRUITMENT AGENCIES PLEASE
Tri-Can Contract is a well-established commercial and condo construction contractor based in Markham, Ontario. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and exceptionally organized Administrator to join our front-office team.
This is an administrative position within a fast-paced construction environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Project Managers and senior team to ensure that the paperwork, documentation, purchasing, filing, tender administration and project records supporting our construction projects are accurate, organized and completed on time.
You do not need to be a Project Manager.

You enjoy keeping things organized.
You notice when a document is missing.
You follow up when something has not been returned.
You remember that a purchase order still needs to be issued, that a sample is waiting for approval, or that close-out documentation is incomplete.
Most importantly, you take ownership of administrative tasks instead of waiting to be reminded.
Previous experience working in a construction office, general contractor, subcontractor or construction-related business is strongly preferred.

- Providing administrative support to multiple Project Managers.
- Reviewing tender packages and contract documents to identify required administrative documentation.

- Preparing correspondence, spreadsheets, forms and construction-related documentation.
- Maintaining the company sample and product library.
- Assisting with the preparation and collection of warranties, maintenance information and project close-out documentation.
- Answering incoming calls and directing construction-related requests to the appropriate team member.
- Following up with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and internal staff when documentation or information is outstanding.
- Supporting the office and project-management team with general administrative duties as required.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably within construction or a related industry.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- The ability to format professional documents and spreadsheets.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

- The ability to work independently once a task has been assigned.
- Confidence communicating with suppliers, subcontractors, general contractors and clients.
- A professional telephone and email manner.
- Robust filing,
document-control and record-management skills.
Experience reading basic construction documentation, tender packages, specifications or contracts would be considered an asset. Maestro ERP - Previous experience with Maestro ERP would be a significant asset, but is not required.
Candidates with strong administrative experience and the ability to learn new software will also be considered.
