As a Payments Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the payments operations, including traditional and alternative transactions, within our e-commerce platform. This position requires shift work and 24/7 support coverage.

- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the payments function, including monitoring transactions, reconciling accounts, and resolving payment-related issues for both traditional and alternative payments.
- Monitor payment gateways and systems to ensure proper functioning and troubleshoot any technical issues or errors.
- Conduct routine analysis of payment data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization in both traditional and alternative payment channels.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, customer service, and development, to address payment-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the implementation of fraud prevention measures and risk management strategies to safeguard against payment fraud and chargebacks.
- Stay informed about industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices related to payments and security.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of payment processes, policies, and procedures for reference and training purposes.
- Provide support for ad-hoc projects and initiatives related to payments optimization, process improvement, and system enhancements.




- Contribute ideas and suggestions for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of payment operations and enhancing the customer payment experience.
- Collaborate with external payment service providers and financial institutions to optimize payment processing and reduce costs.

Qualifications

- College diploma or Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration an asset. 5 years of work experience in a finance or payments-related role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data to draw meaningful insights, including experience analyzing transaction data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing financial transactions and reconciliations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to current processes and technologies, and take initiative in problem-solving.
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms, payment gateways, and online payment processing is desirable.
- Enthusiasm for the e-commerce industry and a desire to build a career in payments and financial operations.
