Now Hiring: Auger Truck Operators & Apprentice Electricians

Dobbyn Electrical is looking for motivated, hardworking individuals to join our growing team in Calgary, Alberta.

We are currently hiring Auger Truck Operators and/or Apprentice Electricians to work on a variety of service, streetlighting, and parks projects throughout the City of Calgary.

Our projects involve everything from civil construction and underground electrical installations to the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complete streetlighting systems.

The Work

Depending on your experience and position, your responsibilities may include:

- Operating auger trucks and other construction equipment
- Trenching and excavation for electrical installations
- Installing underground electrical conduits
- Installing streetlight bases
- Installing streetlight poles and fixtures
- Installing electrical cabinets and associated equipment
- Installing and maintaining fully functional lighting systems
- Troubleshooting existing electrical systems
- Performing electrical maintenance and repairs
- Working on streetlighting, parks, and municipal electrical projects
- Reading and working from electrical drawings, blueprints, and surveys
- Working safely around construction sites, equipment, traffic, and the public
- Assisting with general civil and electrical construction duties as required

- A commitment to working safely and following company procedures





Assets The following experience and qualifications are considered an asset:

- Experience operating an auger truck
- Experience operating mini excavators
- Experience operating a Bobcat or similar equipment
- Air brake experience or certification
- Previous civil construction experience
- Electrical construction or streetlighting experience
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical drawings, and surveys
- Experience with underground utilities or conduit installation
- Previous experience working on municipal, parks, or streetlighting projects
