Bad Guy Motors is a custom fabrication and diesel performance shop. We build custom trucks and restomods, manufacture our own line of truck accessories, and put out finished work we’re willing to stamp our name on. This role is based at our paint and body shop in Taber.

This is a custom-build role. We do not do collision or insurance work. We’re looking for an experienced body and paint person who can run their own bench and take a panel from prep to a show-quality finish without someone standing over them.

What you’ll do

- Bodywork, panel prep, block sanding and filler on custom and restoration builds
- Prime, seal, base and clear to a show-quality standard
- Colour matching, blending and custom finishes
- Prep and paint our manufactured products and one-off fabrication work
- Work alongside our fabricators and welders on integrated builds
- Catch problems before they turn into rework

The BGM Standard Our name goes on every finish that leaves this shop. Here’s what that means in the booth:

- Prep is most of the job, and you treat it that way. You don’t shortcut it to make the schedule.
- Straight panels, consistent lines and gaps. You check under the light before anyone else sees it.
- No sand scratches, dust nibs, runs or orange peel make it to the customer.
- Colour matches in daylight, not just in the booth.
- You follow the product system (mix ratios, flash times, film build) every time.
- Booth and bench stay clean, and materials are tracked.

What we need





- 3+ years of skilled autobody and refinishing experience
- Custom, restoration or high-end shop background
- Journeyperson / Red Seal Auto Body or Automotive Refinishing Technician preferred
- You manage your own workflow and don’t need hand-holding
- Real attention to detail and pride in a finished product
- Valid driver’s licence

This job isn’t for you if…

- Your experience is strictly insurance and collision volume
- You’re used to “valuable enough to pass the adjuster”
- You’d rather buff out a problem than fix it properly

Schedule

Monday to Friday, full-time. Evening or weekend work may be required to meet customer deadlines.

From out of town?

We welcome candidates willing to relocate to Taber at their own cost. We do not offer a relocation package.

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
