Wellington Brewery | Guelph, ON

At Wellington Brewery, we've been brewing with purpose since 1985. As one of Canada's original craft breweries, we're proud of our history, but we're even more excited about where we're headed.

Wellington continues to evolve as both a craft brewery and beverage manufacturer. As we grow our capabilities and expand our beverage portfolio, we're looking for an experienced brewer who takes pride in producing exceptional beer, enjoys solving problems, and wants to help shape what's next for a brewery that's always evolving.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Run and monitor our 40hL brewhouse and 5hL pilot system.
- Support recipe development, pilot brews, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist in troubleshooting process and equipment issues
- Execute all stages of brewing: milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, hopping, and wort cooling.
- Follow recipes with precision to deliver consistent, high-quality products.
- Perform sensory analysis and identify quality issues across a range of beverages.
- Support yeast management including cropping, pitching, and fermentation processes.
- Handle tank transfers, blending, and dry hopping.
- Work across cellar operations, including tank cleaning (CIP) and wastewater handling.
- Complete tank checks and support QC sampling and analysis.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.
- Follow all SOPs, GMPs, HACCP requirements, and safety protocols.
- Identify opportunities to improve brewing efficiency, consistency, and product quality.
- Keep accurate production logs and records.
- Work closely with the team to meet production and quality targets.

What You Bring

- Completion of post-secondary education in brewing, fermentation science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 3 years of commercial brewing experience preferred.

- Strong understanding of brewing processes, quality control, and sanitation standards.
- Experience operating both large-scale brewhouses and pilot systems.
- Knowledge of yeast management and sensory evaluation techniques.
- Experience working within GMP and HACCP programs in a food, beverage, or brewing environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A team-first mindset with the ability to work independently when needed.

Who Will Succeed Here? You will thrive in this role if you:

- Take pride in producing consistently great beer.
- Enjoy being hands-on and solving problems.
- Care about quality as much as efficiency.
- Like working with a team that values accountability and continuous improvement.
- Want to bring your experience and ideas to a brewery that's continuing to evolve.

Physical & Working Conditions

This position requires

- Ability to lift 50lbs and maneuver up to 75lbs.
- Comfortable working on your feet, walking, twisting, lifting and bending for extended periods.
- Able to work in hot, cold, wet, and physically demanding environments.
- Comfortable working around chemicals, hot liquids, machinery, ladders and production equipment.

Why Work With Us? Wellington is a 41-year-old company with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and community involvement. While our roots are in craft beer, we're continuing to grow our capabilities, improve our processes, and expand our beverage portfolio to support future growth.

This is an opportunity to join a brewery where your experience matters. You'll work alongside a skilled production team, contribute to new products and process improvements, and play a meaningful role in shaping what's next for Wellington. You'll have the opportunity to work on both established brands and new product innovation as Wellington continues to grow beyond traditional beer production.
