We are seeking a energetic and friendly Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our bustling bakery team in Thornhill. Duties

- Greet customers warmly, assist with their selections, and answer questions about products
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, accurately processing sales and handling cash and card transactions
- Manage cash handling procedures with precision, including giving correct change and balancing registers at shift end
- Prepare simple food items as needed, following food safety and sanitation standards
- Upsell bakery items and promote specials to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
- Maintain cleanliness of the service area, including food handling stations and checkout counters
- Ensure all food safety protocols are followed, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Assist with inventory management, restocking shelves,



and organizing display cases for visual appeal
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer service

Experience

- Previous food service or restaurant experience is highly preferred, especially in a bakery or similar food industry setting
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or equivalent point-of-sale technology
- Experience in cashiering, cash handling, and basic math skills for accurate transactions
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality service
- Proven ability to upsell products and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Kitchen or food preparation experience is an asset but not required; willingness to learn is essential
