About us The Royal Canadian Legion is a non-profit organization providing support services to veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces and to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The Legion is a gathering area for social activities, pool, cornhole, darts, cards and other organized activities such as line dancing, concerts, etc.

We seek an energetic and hardworking individual to join our team as part-cleaner, part-maintenance person. The ideal candidate will help clean the building, shovel snow (or operate a snow blower), lay down salt in the winter, mow the lawn in the summer, and walk around the inside and outside of the building, noting any problems and coordinating their resolution. For example, if a light is out, the person would go to a hardware store with whom the Legion has a relationship, get a light bulb and install the replacement.

If there is a leaking faucet, the person would contact a plumber and coordinate its repair.

The position is part-time, up to 6 hours per week.

This is mainly for weekdays, although there will be weekend days on occasion. Cleaning/maintenance work would be coordinated with the other cleaner, and work will start as early as 6 AM. Depending on the amount of snowfall, the person would carry out snow clearing, and, monitoring the weather, may have to come back to do more snow clearing. Thus, there may be weeks with more than 6 hours. Job starts at $19 per hour.
