Great Lakes Greenhouses is seeking a mechanically inclined and dependable individual to support our Co-GEN and Boiler Engineer in the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the greenhouse’s cogeneration and boiler systems.

This is a supporting position that works under the direction of the existing engineer to help maintain reliable equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist with routine inspections of co-generation equipment, boilers, pumps, valves, piping, and related systems.

- · Record operating readings and maintain inspection and maintenance logs.
- · Report unusual readings, leaks, alarms, equipment damage, or other operating concerns promptly.
- · Assist with preventive maintenance, cleaning, and basic mechanical repairs as instructed.
- · Support troubleshooting and scheduled maintenance under the engineer’s supervision.
- · Help organize tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
- · Coordinate with maintenance staff and contractors when assigned.
- · Follow safety procedures, including required PPE and lockout procedures.




- · Keep equipment rooms and work areas clean and organized.

Qualifications

- · Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
- · Previous experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical work, heating systems, or similar equipment is an asset.
- · Familiarity with boilers, engines, pumps, or cogeneration systems is an asset.
- · Ability to follow instructions, recognize problems, and maintain accurate records.
- · Reliable attendance, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- · Ability to communicate clearly in English and work effectively with the engineering and maintenance teams.
- · Relevant technical training or trade certification is an asset.

Working Conditions

- · Work takes place in equipment rooms and greenhouse facilities, with exposure to heat and noise.
- · Duties may involve standing, bending, climbing stairs, and handling tools or equipment.
- · Schedule flexibility may be required for on calls, planned maintenance or operational needs

Pay: $17.95-$30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
