COMMUNITY RESOURCE WORKER 1-ALTERNATE WEEKEND for NUEVO

(Part-Time, Permanent, Female Applicant only)

About the position:

McMan’s Disability Services Program is seeking to recruit a dedicated CRW 1 to support three (3) female individuals with developmental disabilities to enrich their quality of life in their homes and communities

Please note that due to clients needs, the successful candidate must be female.

Hours: Friday 11:00pm—Sunday 11:00pm; 32 awake hours and 16 sleep hours—every second weekend

Location: Edson, Alberta.

What you’ll do:

· Connect with and develop helping relationships with individuals with disabilities.

· Acting as a strong advocate for individuals in the community.

· Work effectively as a team with the individual and their support team to help achieve their goals.

· Completion of daily documentation.

· Support and participate in recreation and leisure activities.

· Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home.

· Participate in on-going program development.

What you bring:

· Completion of a High School Diploma.

· Please note that applicants with a degree or diploma in Social Work from a university accredited by the Alberta College of Social Workers are required to be registered with the College (RSW) before starting or obtain registration within three months of hire.

· Six (6) months experience working within the Human Services field (relevant equivalencies will be considered).

· Solid verbal and written communication skills.

· Security Clearance Check; including the Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months).





· Current Emergency First Aid—Level A CPR + AED.

· A valid Class 5 driver’s license with a minimum of three years of verifiable driving experience, a reliable vehicle, and $2 million in auto insurance coverage are required.

· Proficiency in basic computer and word processing tasks

· Compassion and the ability to assist with personal care.

· Ability to implement approved restrictive practices.

· Ability to provide strong boundaries and structure for the individuals in a positive manner

· Knowledge surrounding interpersonal communication and reading body language

· Desire to see individuals succeed.
