The Role

We are looking for a Concrete Finisher for the Rowatt Project in Regina. The candidate could be local to Regina or from out of town. We need someone from October 19th to Dec 20th. They need to have their own tools and transportation.

Compensation & Advantages

- $28.00 - $32.00 per hour depending on experience
- Time and a half after 8 hours per day or 40 (SK) 44 (AB) hours per week
- 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on all regular hours
- $2.00 per hour out of town premium

Job Duties/Responsibilities

- Place, spread, level, and finish concrete for commercial construction projects, including floors, slabs, sidewalks, curbs, ramps, and other concrete structures.
- Set up and operate concrete finishing tools and equipment, including screeds, bull floats, power trowels, and hand tools.
- Screed concrete to the required elevations, grades, and thicknesses.
- Float, trowel, edge, and joint concrete to achieve the specified finish and surface quality.
- Install control joints and expansion joints as required by project specifications.
- Monitor concrete consistency, setting time, and curing conditions to achieve proper finishing results.
- Apply curing compounds and assist with curing and protection of newly placed concrete.
- Assist with concrete placement, formwork preparation, reinforcement installation, and pre-pour inspections as required.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, elevations, and specifications to ensure work meets project requirements.




- Inspect finished surfaces for levelness, slope, smoothness, and overall quality.
- Maintain and clean concrete finishing tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Coordinate with concrete placing crews, carpenters, equipment operators, and site supervisors to meet project schedules.
- Follow all site safety procedures, including the safe handling of wet concrete, cement products, and finishing equipment.
- Wear required personal protective equipment and comply with applicable occupational health and safety regulations.
- Perform general labor duties and other construction-related tasks as required.

Education/Training/Soft Skills

- Previous experience finishing concrete on commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Knowledge of concrete placement, screeding, floating, trowelling, edging, and curing techniques.
- Ability to read basic construction drawings and follow project specifications.
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a concrete crew and meet project deadlines.
- Concrete finishing trade certification or apprenticeship experience is considered an asset.
- Valid SCOT
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Own reliable transportation

Job Information

- 10-12 hours per day
- Monday to Friday with work on weekends as required
- Working outside in various weather conditions
- Dusty, loud environments
- Working on busy construction sites around heavy equipment and moving parts
- Able to walk on uneven terrain as well as sitting/driving for extended periods of time
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to climb ladders

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
