Job Overview

Infrastructure Safety Solutions Inc. supplies road safety materials and provides equipment rental services with an operator and ground-support assistant to contractors.

We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious individual to support our Airdrie yard, material deliveries, and equipment rental operations.

When equipment rental work is not scheduled, you will work from our yard preparing materials, picking and packing orders, loading vehicles, and completing deliveries. During field assignments, you will accompany our equipment operator as an assistant, or swamper, providing equipment setup and ground support at customer project sites.

Responsibilities

- Assist our equipment operator with equipment preparation, setup, and ground support during rental assignments.
- Help load, unload, and secure equipment, tools, and materials for transport.
- Follow the operator’s direction and maintain clear communication around operating equipment.
- Pick, count, pack, and prepare materials for customer pickup and delivery.
- Drive company trucks and tow trailers as qualified and authorized.
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment as trained and authorized.
- Assist with routine vehicle, trailer, and equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and work records.
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members.
- Keep the yard, vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
- Follow safety procedures, wear required PPE, and report hazards promptly.

Qualifications

- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a professional attitude.

- Valid driver’s licence and an acceptable driving record.
- Experience driving trucks and towing trailers is a solid asset.
- Experience in yard operations, material handling, deliveries, or equipment ground support is preferred.
- Forklift experience or certification is an asset.
- Ability to perform physical work, including handling materials weighing 50 lb or more, with assistance or lifting equipment where appropriate.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and around operating equipment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites, including overnight stays and extended workdays as required.
- Ability to follow instructions, communicate clearly, and work safely as part of a small team.

What We Offer

- $28.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, plus applicable overtime.
- 40–60 hours per week, depending on project requirements and workload.
- Varied work involving yard operations, material handling, deliveries, and equipment rental support.
- Company transportation provided for out-of-town assignments — employees are responsible for reporting to the Airdrie yard, with company vehicles used for travel to and from the project area, accommodations, job sites, and for material deliveries as required.
- Company-paid private hotel accommodation for out-of-town assignments.
- $100 per day meal allowance while working out of town.
- Required PPE provided, excluding CSA-approved steel-toe boots.
- Potential for continued part-time winter employment, based on operational requirements.

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
