Medicine Hat
Bad Guy Motors is a custom fabrication and diesel performance shop in Medicine Hat. We design and build our own line of truck accessories, including Outlaw Series bumpers, Badland Bars, stainless mudflaps, running boards and flat decks, plus the custom builds other shops won’t take on. Our customers run ag, oil and gas, construction and fleet trucks across Western Canada. What we build has to hold up, and it has to look right.
We’re hiring a fabricator who can take a job from raw material to finished product and get it right the first time.
What you’ll do
- Fabricate and weld bumpers, bars, decks and other truck accessories
- Cut, form and bend sheet metal and tube
- Run a tube bender and brake press
- Lay out, measure and fit up parts from shop drawings and templates
- Work a mix of production runs and custom one-off builds
- Inspect your own work before it moves to finishing or paint
The BGM Standard Our name goes on everything that leaves this shop. Here’s what that means on the fab floor:
- Square, true and to the drawing, not “close enough.” You measure, check, and check again before you cut.
- Clean fit-up before you strike an arc. Welds that look right and are right.
- Grind, finish and inspect before a part moves on. If it isn’t ready, it doesn’t move.
- Production part #50 matches production part #1.
- Clean as you go. Tools back where they belong. Material tracked, not wasted.
- If you spot a problem, in your work or anyone else’s, you stop and say so.
What we need
- Hands-on sheet metal and tube fabrication experience
- MIG welding experience.
TIG is a strong asset.
- Tube bender and brake press experience
- Ability to read and work from shop drawings
- Valid driver’s licence
- Your own hand tools and welding PPE
- You work independently. You get the job, you get it done right, no babysitting required.
Assets
- CNC plasma table experience
- Custom truck or off-road build experience
- Stainless and aluminum TIG
- CWB ticket or Alberta journeyperson Welder certificate
This job isn’t for you if…
- “Positive enough” is part of your vocabulary
- You need someone else to check your work for you
- You’d rather hide a mistake than fix it
What you get
- $30–$40/hr depending on experience
- Milestone raises and a clear path to lead hand for the right person
- Real fab work in a shop that builds its own product line, not repair-and-patch
Hiring process Apply through Indeed. Shortlisted candidates have a first interview online. Finalists then come to the shop for a hands-on test: bring your full welding gear. You’ll set up the machine yourself and build a simple fit-up from a shop drawing. If you have photos of past builds, attach them to your application or have them ready. They tell us more than a resume does.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, full-time. Evening or weekend work may be required to meet customer deadlines.

We welcome candidates willing to relocate to Medicine Hat at their own cost. We do not offer a relocation package.
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
