Hiring: Senior Data Architect | Remote within Canada

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to support a large-scale digital transformation involving regulatory, environmental and geospatial data.

This prospect is ideal for someone who combines hands-on data platform expertise with enterprise architecture leadership.

Location and Rate

- Fully remote, with work performed within Canada.
- Contract rate: CAD $95–$100 per hour .
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Contract dates and duration will be confirmed during screening.

What You Will Do

- Design enterprise data architecture and conceptual, logical and physical data models.
- Develop integration designs across enterprise applications, Databricks and geospatial platforms.
- Define batch, near-real-time, streaming, API and change data capture integration patterns.
- Design lakehouse solutions using Databricks, Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.
- Establish data quality, metadata, lineage, governance and access controls.
- Address security, privacy and threat/risk considerations.
- Produce architecture diagrams, interface specifications and architecture decision records.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, security specialists and agile delivery teams.
- Provide technical leadership and resolve complex integration and data quality challenges.

What We Are Looking For

- A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or relevant equivalent education.




- Extensive enterprise data architecture experience, including designing, implementing, documenting and supporting enterprise data solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark/PySpark, SQL and Unity Catalog .
- Strong relational, dimensional and lakehouse data modeling expertise.
- Experience with REST APIs, ETL/ELT, streaming and CDC .
- Cloud data platform experience, preferably Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Event Hubs and Key Vault .
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise data platforms.
- Knowledge of geospatial data, coordinate reference systems and spatial data quality.
- Experience with enterprise architecture standards, governance, security and risk assessments.
- Strong communication, estimation, planning and stakeholder leadership skills.

Additional Assets

- TOGAF certification.
- Public-sector or regulated-industry experience.
- PowerDesigner, ER/Studio or comparable modeling tools.
- SQL Server, Transact-SQL and data warehouse implementation.
- Business intelligence and performance management solutions.
- Agile application delivery experience.
