A Loving Spoonful Meals Society is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and motivated Delivery & Operations Coordinator to join our team.

This is a hands-on position combining driving and delivery responsibilities with general kitchen and warehouse support.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of hot and frozen meals, food products, supplies, and donations between our commercial kitchen, warehouse, housing and community partners, and other program locations.

When not performing deliveries, the employee will actively assist our kitchen and warehouse teams with meal preparation, packaging, inventory management, receiving and organizing supplies, cleaning, and other general operational duties.

We are looking for a dependable, flexible team player who takes initiative, enjoys physical work, and is willing to assist wherever needed to support our daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Deliveries

- Safely operate company delivery vehicles while adhering to all traffic laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Deliver hot and frozen meals to housing providers, community partners, and program locations.
- Transport food products, equipment, and supplies between our commercial kitchen and warehouse facilities.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring products are handled safely and secured appropriately.
- Pick up food donations, supplies, and other materials from suppliers and community partners.
- Assist with catering deliveries, special events, and occasional deliveries to individual program clients.
- Follow established delivery schedules and routes, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently and on time.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding delivery schedules, delays, or operational concerns.
- Maintain proper food handling and temperature control procedures during transportation.
- Perform routine vehicle safety checks, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and report maintenance or mechanical concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation as required.

Kitchen & Meal Production Support

- Assist kitchen staff with general food preparation and meal production activities as directed.
- Support meal portioning, packaging, sealing, labeling, and preparation for distribution.
- Assist with organizing ingredients, supplies, and equipment required for daily production.




- Prepare and organize completed meals for delivery, storage, or distribution.
- Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, sanitizing equipment, and maintaining organized workstations.
- Follow established food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Provide additional kitchen assistance during busy production periods or when operational needs require.

Warehouse & Inventory Support

- Receive, unload, inspect, and organize incoming food products, supplies, and donations.
- Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Pull and organize frozen meals and food products for kitchen production and distribution.
- Assist with moving products between warehouse storage, freezers, coolers, and kitchen facilities.
- Maintain clean, organized, and accessible freezer, cooler, and dry storage areas.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or inventory concerns to supervisors.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining warehouse equipment, shelving, and storage spaces.
- Ensure products are handled and stored according to established food safety procedures.

General Operations & Facility Support

- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of kitchen, warehouse, and operational areas.
- Support garbage removal, recycling, and general facility upkeep.
- Assist with moving and setting up tables, equipment, supplies, and materials as required.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, warehouse personnel, volunteers, and other team members.
- Support special projects, community events, and catering activities when needed.
- Identify and report safety concerns, equipment issues, or operational problems.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the organization.

Qualifications & Skills

- Valid BC Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Minimum two years of driving experience required, preferably operating cargo vans or commercial delivery vehicles.




- Comfortable driving throughout Metro Vancouver and surrounding communities.
- Previous experience in delivery services, food production, warehouse operations, or a similar hands-on role is an asset.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and complete assigned responsibilities.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a high standard of work.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to assist with a variety of tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with staff, volunteers, suppliers, and community partners.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and safe handling procedures is an asset.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and safety checks is an asset.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Comfortable performing frequent lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, bending, and standing.
- Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments as required.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding duties throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely operate carts, dollies, and other material-handling equipment.
