Function:

Maintains a continuous supply of clean and sanitized dishware, glassware and eating utensils as well as the supply of pots, pans, tools and cooking utensils necessary to support production. Work is performed according to Imago standards and procedures. Successful performance requires close cooperation with kitchen staff and the exercise of some judgement in determining priorities.

Key Tasks:

- Monitors flow and utilization of dishware, glassware, cookware and utensils and determines priorities for cleaning.
- Sorts dishware, glassware, cookware and utensils to prepare for cleaning and washing.




- Stacks and loads dishwashing equipment efficiently to ensure that the maximum number is of items is cleaned in each cycle, consistent with equipment capacity.
- Examines cleaned dishware and utensils to identify the presence of spots, streaks or soiled areas or items; takes corrective action when any are found.
- Sorts, stacks, and arranges clean dishware, glassware, cookware and utensils.
- Cleans production equipment according to the schedule.
- Cleans the kitchen floor and maintains it continuously in a clean and protected state.
- Disposes of garbage safely and hygienically, according to procedures.
- Contributes to a safe work environment by complying with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Imago-specific safety regulations, reporting unsafe acts/conditions, injury or illness immediately, and bringing health and safety issues to the attention of the health and safety committee.
- Adheres to duties of workers outlined in Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- As required, performs the following tasks:
- prepare food items, such as vegetables;
- break down boxes;
- sort and put out recyclable garbage.
- Education Required:*

The job requires knowledge equivalent to a grade 10 education in Ontario schools.

Experience Required:

This is an entry level position.
