ELA, Math & Science Tutor-Mentor – South Winnipeg

TutorBright is seeking experienced Tutor-Mentors to support elementary, middle school, and high school students in South Winnipeg. We are currently looking for tutors who are confident helping with English Language Arts, Math, and Science, especially in or near the Bridgwater, Linden Woods, and River Heights areas.

This adaptable, part-time opportunity allows you to create a schedule that works around your availability while providing one-on-one academic support and mentorship that helps students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and succeed in school.

Responsibilities:

- Provide personalized one-on-one tutoring sessions for elementary, middle school, and/or high school students.
- Support students with English Language Arts, Math, Science, homework, assignments, test preparation, and study skills.
- Help students build stronger reading, writing, problem-solving, and academic confidence.
- Tutor high school science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics when applicable.
- Explain concepts clearly and adapt teaching strategies to match each student’s grade level, learning style, and academic needs.
- Act as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build stronger learning habits and overcome academic challenges.

Qualifications:

- Solid knowledge of English Language Arts, Math, and/or Science.
- Comfortable supporting elementary, middle school, and/or high school students.
- Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or youth-support experience is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.




- Commitment to creating a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and adjust support based on each student’s needs.

Requirements:

- Ability to provide in-home and/or online tutoring.
- Must be located in Winnipeg, preferably in or near South Winnipeg, Bridgwater, Linden Woods, or River Heights.
- Reliable transportation for in-home tutoring.
- Current or willingness to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Additional Assets:

- Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor’s degree program.
- Graduate of or currently enrolled in a B.Ed., B.A., B.Sc., B.Eng., B.Math., or related program.
- Certified Teacher.
- Experience tutoring elementary, middle school, or high school students.
- Experience supporting ELA, Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or general Science.
