- Identify electrical hazards, equipment deficiencies, and opportunities to improve system safety and reliability.
- Support electrical safety assessments, machinery safety reviews, and Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews (PSRs).
- Apply relevant electrical codes and standards, including the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), Canadian Electrical Code principles, applicable CSA standards, ESA requirements, and other applicable safety regulations.

Industrial Equipment, Motors & Controls
- Determine electrical requirements for industrial machinery, production equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- Design and coordinate equipment power connections, motor feeders, disconnects, grounding, control-panel power, and electrical interfaces.
- Support motor-control systems involving three-phase motors, starters, contactors, overload protection, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), soft starters, and MCCs.
- Coordinate with controls and automation teams on PLC interfaces, industrial control panels, sensors, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder-logic fundamentals, emergency-stop circuits, safety interlocks, and equipment integration requirements.
- Assist with electrical troubleshooting, installation, testing, and commissioning.

Electrical Design & Documentation
- Prepare, review, and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, power plans, equipment layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Develop panel schedules, load schedules, motor schedules, cable and conduit schedules, and electrical installation details.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, equipment specifications, and design documentation.
- Support industrial lighting,

emergency lighting, lighting controls, general power distribution, and facility electrical renovations where applicable.
- Coordinate electrical layouts, equipment clearances, cable trays, and conduit routing with other engineering disciplines.
- Use 3D scans, point-cloud information, and coordination models to identify installation constraints and potential clashes.

Field Engineering & Project Support
- Conduct electrical field investigations in operating industrial and manufacturing facilities.
- Collect and verify equipment nameplate information, transformer data, protective-device information, and existing electrical system details.
- Review site conditions and compare existing installations against electrical drawings and documentation.
- Identify safety concerns, installation constraints, equipment-access issues, and practical design considerations.
- Coordinate with clients, plant personnel, maintenance teams, contractors, vendors, and other engineering disciplines.
- Review vendor quotations, shop drawings, technical submittals, and equipment specifications.
- Assist with scopes of work, RFQs, technical bid evaluations, equipment procurement, and FAT/SAT activities where applicable.
- Support project planning, engineering estimates, schedules, construction reviews, and commissioning.
- Manage assigned engineering tasks, drawing revisions, documentation, and deadlines while communicating project progress and technical concerns.

Qualifications & Technical SkillsEducation & Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably involving industrial facilities, manufacturing, power distribution, or equipment integration.
- Eligibility for registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status, or progress toward a P.Eng. licence is an asset.
- Experience with multidisciplinary engineering projects, industrial equipment installations, or facility upgrades is an asset.

Technical Knowledge

Candidates should have a robust foundation in electrical engineering principles and working knowledge of several of the following:

- AC and DC systems, single-phase and three-phase power, electrical circuit analysis, voltage, current, power, power factor, impedance, and frequency.
