Our Client:

They tackle complex environmental and site rehabilitation challenges where success depends on more than valuable engineering drawings. They deliver practical solutions that work in the real world, under real operating conditions, and they're looking for engineering leaders who're equally comfortable discussing process design, commissioning equipment, or troubleshooting issues in the field.

The Need:

A Process Engineer who can bridge the gap between design and execution. Someone who understands treatment and remediation systems, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and wants to see their work perform in the field, not just on paper. This is a hands-on role with meaningful exposure to design, commissioning, optimization, operations support, and emerging treatment technologies.

What You'll Do:

- Design, evaluate, and optimize environmental treatment and remediation systems.

- Support projects from concept and design through procurement, commissioning, startup, and field implementation.

- Troubleshoot operational challenges and improve system performance, reliability, and efficiency.

- Work directly with site teams, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.

- Develop operating procedures, technical documentation, and process improvement initiatives.

- Support the assessment and deployment of innovative treatment technologies.

What You'll Bring:

- Engineering degree and eligibility for, or registration as, a P.Eng.

- Experience designing, commissioning, or operating treatment, remediation, or environmental process systems.

- Strong understanding of water treatment, contaminated sites, soil and groundwater remediation,

or related environmental technologies.

- Practical experience supporting projects through design, construction, commissioning, and operation.

- Ability to move comfortably between office, pilot-scale, and field environments.

- Strong troubleshooting skills and a knack for turning technical concepts into workable solutions.

What This Role Is NOT:

- A plant management or production supervision position.

- A purely consulting or desk-based design role.

- A project management position removed from the technical work.

- A maintenance-focused operations role centred on equipment and workforce supervision.

What's In It For You:

- Work on technically challenging projects with measurable environmental impact.

- Influence how treatment and remediation systems are designed, commissioned, and optimized.

- Gain exposure to innovative technologies and complex field applications.

- Join a team where engineering decisions directly affect project outcomes.

- Stay connected to both technical problem-solving and real-world execution.

- Build solutions that get implemented, operated, and improved in the field.

The Plutonic Take:

This role is built for engineers who like seeing their work leave the drawing board and prove itself in the field. You'll spend less time producing reports and more time solving real problems, improving process performance, and helping projects move from concept to successful operation.

If you enjoy commissioning, troubleshooting, optimization, and working alongside operators and project teams, you'll likely find this role far more rewarding than a traditional consulting position.
