POSTING TYPE: Internal POSITION TYPE: Full-Time HOURS OF WORK: 40-hour work week, as per schedule HOURLY RATE $41.35 per hour, Pay Grade 8 - Schedule "B" Outside Employees ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION - Grade 12 Diploma or GED LICENSES / CERTIFICATES - Valid Class three (3) BC Driver’s License with Air Endorsement EXPERIENCE - Five (5) years’ experience in a Municipal Works workplace, or similar nature, operating heavy duty equipment associated with excavating for shallow and deep utilities SPECIFIC SKILLS - Proficient, demonstrated ability to safely operate municipal works equipment, including Excavator, Grader, Loader, Backhoe, Sweeper, etc.

- Demonstrated ability to safely operate excavation equipment near or around shallow and deep underground utilities.
- Knowledge of municipal standards/policies.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise considerable tact,



courtesy and diplomacy in dealing with members of the public, other agencies and staff.
- High degree of initiative and sound judgement.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to perform all of the duties outlined in a safe manner following established City policies and procedures; WorkSafeBC. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS - Committed to pursuing and attending on-going training and educational opportunities relevant to the position.
- Available and willing to work various schedules, weekends, holidays, day, evening, and night shifts as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
