Experienced Steel Fabricator – Minimum 5 Years Experience

Canada Ironworks is looking for an experienced Steel Fabricator to join our team.

We are looking for a skilled and dependable fabricator with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on steel fabrication experience. The successful candidate must be confident reading shop drawings, laying out material, fitting and assembling components, and producing accurate, high-quality work with minimal supervision.

This is not an entry-level position.

Schedule – 4-Day Work Week

- Monday to Thursday
- Four 10-hour shifts
- 40 hours per week
- Fridays off
- Overtime may be available as required

Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural and miscellaneous steel components
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and fabrication drawings
- Accurately measure, lay out, cut, fit, tack, and assemble steel
- Fit components according to drawings and specifications
- Perform welding as required during the fabrication process
- Use grinders, saws, drills, ironworking equipment, and other fabrication tools
- Check dimensions, angles, fit-up, and completed assemblies for accuracy
- Identify and correct fabrication issues before completion
- Maintain a high standard of quality and workmanship
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Work independently as well as part of our fabrication team

Requirements

Applicants must have

- Minimum 5 years of steel fabrication experience
- Strong fitting and fabrication skills
- Robust ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints
- Experience fabricating structural and miscellaneous steel
- Strong measuring, layout, and mathematical skills




- Ability to accurately fit and assemble components from drawings
- Experience using common fabrication tools and equipment
- Good understanding of welding and proper weld preparation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious

Additional Tickets & Experience – Assets The following are considered assets:
- CWB welding tickets
- Stick (SMAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) welding experience

Pay: $38.00-$45.00 per hour
