Field Manager (Commercial Painting)
Calibre Coatings Ltd. – Calgary, AB
Full-Time | Company Vehicle | Competitive Salary + Performance Bonus
Lead Projects. Develop People. Build Something Better.
Calibre Coatings is one of Western Canada's leading commercial painting contractors, delivering projects ranging from tenant improvements to large institutional, commercial, light industrial, and multi-unit developments.
We're looking for a Field Manager to lead multiple commercial painting projects throughout Calgary and surrounding areas. You'll be responsible for coordinating manpower, equipment, subcontractors, project quality, safety, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
This is not a desk job -- it's a leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people, solving problems, and making a measurable impact on a growing company.
You'll work closely with our Senior Field Manager, Estimators, Project Coordinator, and field team to successfully deliver projects from start to finish.
If you're organized, respected by the people you lead, and take pride in delivering well run projects, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
- Manage multiple commercial painting projects simultaneously.
- Lead, mentor, and support foremen and field employees.
- Coordinate manpower, subcontractors, equipment, and project schedules.
- Monitor production, quality, safety, and project progress.
- Conduct regular site visits and resolve issues before they impact the project.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and office staff.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, clients, and subcontractors.
- Ensure projects are completed safely,
on schedule, within budget, and to company quality standards.
- Assist with workforce planning and resource allocation.
- Promote a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture.
What We're Looking For: We're looking for someone who has:
- 3+ years in a commercial construction leadership role (Foreman, Superintendent, Site Supervisor, Field Manager, or similar).
- Experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
- Robust leadership, organization, and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- The ability to prioritize changing workloads in a fast paced environment.
- A solid understanding of commercial construction practices.
- Experience with scheduling, labour planning, and productivity management.
- A valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract.
Commercial painting experience is considered an asset, but candidates from other commercial construction trades are encouraged to apply. You'll Be Successful If You:
- Lead through respect rather than authority.
- Stay calm and make good decisions under pressure.
- Take ownership of problems and focus on solutions.
- Communicate clearly and professionally.
- Hold yourself and others accountable.
- Are highly organized without losing sight of the bigger picture.
- Enjoy improving systems and processes.
- Care about quality, customer satisfaction, and developing people.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Performance bonus program.
- Company vehicle.
- Company phone and computer.
- Extended health and dental benefits.
- RRSP matching program.
- Paid vacation.
- Ongoing leadership and professional development.
- Career advancement opportunities.
- Stable, year-round employment with one of Alberta's established commercial painting contractors.
