The store design was created in Perugia, Italy, and shipped to Canada as part of a broader expansion strategy. Since opening in June 2013, the business has been voted the No. 1 food outlet in Niagara-on-the-Lake and is actively expanding across the Niagara Region with plans for the Greater Toronto Area. Il Gelato di Carlotta Inc. is a family-owned and operated business with partners in both Florence, Italy, and Canada.

Role Description This is a full-time, in office Food Server role located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON.

The Food

Server will greet guests, take and serve orders, and provide information about menu items, ingredients, and specials.

Responsibilities include preparing and plating gelato and other food and beverage items, operating the POS system, handling cash and electronic payments,



and maintaining a clean and welcoming service area. The role also involves restocking supplies, following food safety and hygiene standards, and supporting the team during peak periods.

The Food

Server will contribute to a positive guest experience by offering attentive, courteous, and efficient service.

Qualifications

- Strong Customer Service and Communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or dessert shop; training will be provided.
- Experience or aptitude in Food & Beverage and Food Service operations, including handling orders and serving products.
- Basic Cooking or food preparation skills, with attention to quality, presentation, and food safety.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and perform light to moderate lifting in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude toward learning and teamwork.
