The salary range for this position is CAD $25.82 - $25.82 / hour

Detailed Overview

Under direction of Food Services Supervisor, prepares and portions sandwiches, salads and other therapeutic food items for patients based on diet information; checks patient trays to ensure accuracy of food and food-related items.

Responsibilities

- Prepares therapeutic nourishment items by weighing, measuring and combining ingredients; labels individual nourishment items including patient's name, ward, food item, date of preparation and required feeding time; records food temperatures as per HACCP regulations.
- Prepared cold food items such as sandwiches, salads, pudding and jello; prepares and labels bulk nourishments.
- Prepares and refrigerates nourishment trays for wards for the AM, PM, and HS; ensures nourishment trays are accurately marked and ready for delivery on meal carts.
- Prepares, delivers, rotates and stocks bulk supplies to wards and other areas based on requisitions or standard quotas; maintains stocks of nourishment supplies.




- Checks items on patient meal trays against menu items to ensure accuracy; removes inappropriate items from the trays and replaces as per patient's menu.
- Performs cleaning duties such as sweeping and damp moping floors, cleaning counter tops and other related duties to maintain a clean working area and equipment.
- Checks returned trays for items not consumed and maintains nourishment statistics as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Grade 10, plus one (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Current Food Secure Level I certificate or equivalent.
