About Creative Rise

Creative Rise Marketing is a Recent Brunswick-based video and strategy company creating brand stories, recruitment campaigns, product videos, and social content for businesses and organizations.

We’re looking for a creative, dependable video editor who can turn raw footage into a compelling story and carry that story through to a polished final delivery.

You should have strong instincts for pacing, music, and visual storytelling, along with confident colour grading and sound skills. We’ll provide creative direction, project briefs, and feedback, but we also want your ideas and judgment. You should be comfortable developing an edit without needing every cut mapped out.

What you’ll be doing

- Finding and shaping the story. Build engaging edits from interviews, supporting footage, and product or lifestyle content. Make thoughtful decisions about structure, pacing, music, and emotional impact.
- Colour correction and grading. Match footage across cameras and lighting conditions, maintain natural skin tones, and create a consistent look that suits each project.
- Sound editing and design. Clean up dialogue, balance audio levels, and use music and sound effects to strengthen the viewing experience.
- Graphics and platform adaptations. Incorporate titles, captions, and branded graphics, and adapt videos into shorter edits and different aspect ratios.
- Revisions and collaboration. Work with our team to interpret feedback, refine edits, and communicate clearly about progress and deadlines.
- Finishing and delivery. Manage media and project files, relink proxies to original footage when needed, check final exports, and deliver organized project files alongside finished videos.

Who we’re looking for A storyteller, not just a software operator. Your portfolio shows more than impressive transitions. Your work demonstrates an ability to choose the right moments, build a clear narrative,



and make a video feel cohesive and intentional.

Someone who takes ownership. You’re comfortable working independently while collaborating with a creative team. You ask good questions, take feedback well, and flag potential issues before they become missed deadlines.

An editor who can finish the project. You have the computer, reliable internet connection, and storage needed to work with large video files and full-resolution footage. A proxy-based editing workflow is welcome, but you must be able to handle the original-media relink and final finishing, not only deliver a rough cut for someone else to complete.

Someone who keeps learning. You stay current with the evolving AI landscape in video production. Experience integrating AI tools into visual effects, cleanup, or other post-production tasks is an asset. We value thoughtful applications that improve the result, backed by strong editing fundamentals.

Location and contract details

We’d love to work with someone based in the Greater Saint John area, including Quispamsis and Rothesay, so we have opportunities to connect and collaborate in person. Being local is a plus, but it’s not a requirement. We’re also open to remote editors who are a strong fit for our team and the work we create.

This is a contract opportunity for up to 20 hours per week, depending on project needs. Weekly hours may vary.

Pay: $20.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week
