French Instructor – TEF/TCF Preparation

Western Workforce Skills & Training Centre (WWSTC) is looking for a French Instructor to deliver in-person evening classes for adult learners preparing for the TEF Canada and TCF Canada examinations.

We are looking for an engaging and supportive instructor who can help students strengthen their French language skills while developing the confidence and exam strategies needed to succeed.

Position Details

- Salary: $30 - $33 per hour, based on experience
- Hours: Approximately 6 hours per week, two weekday evenings from 6:00 PM–9:00 PM
- Location: Surrey, BC (In-person)
- Schedule: Exact days to be determined based on instructor availability and program needs
- Position Type: Part time / Contract

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, structured French instruction focused on TEF Canada and TCF Canada preparation.
- Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Introduce exam formats, question types, strategies, and expectations.
- Provide practice activities, mock exams, and constructive feedback.
- Adapt instruction to different language levels, learning styles, and backgrounds.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and maintain required attendance and course records.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in French, Education, Linguistics, Modern Languages, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience teaching French, preferably to adult learners.




- Experience with TEF Canada and/or TCF Canada preparation is strongly preferred.
- Strong spoken and written French proficiency.
- Knowledge of French grammar, pronunciation, and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with newcomers and learners from diverse cultural backgrounds.
