Empower First Nations communities as a Quu’asa Wellness Worker in Port Alberni or Tofino. This full time position integrates cultural healing practices to support individuals and families facing challenges. The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council seeks an enthusiastic individual for its Mental Health program.
You will provide culturally relevant support and facilitate activities and ceremonies that promote mental wellness. This role requires travel to remote areas, enhancing the community's strength through connection and support networks. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to individuals and families in need
- Facilitate cultural learning and wellness activities
- Develop family support networks and connections
- Refer clients to additional healing resources
- Collaborate with staff during crisis response Requirements:
- Knowledge of Nuu-chah-nulth cultural-healing practices
- Experience working with Indigenous populations
- Diploma or training in counselling or recovery
- Knowledge of addiction transformation programs
