About Angora Studio

Angora Studio is a boutique hair salon in Toronto focused on thoughtful, high-quality hair services in a warm, elevated and collaborative environment. We’re looking for an experienced Hair Stylist who is passionate about their craft, takes pride in the client experience, and wants to build a long-term career within a growing studio.

This is a commission-based employee position for someone who is confident behind the chair, comfortable working independently, and excited to grow their clientele while being part of a supportive team.

Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality hair services, including cutting, styling and blowouts
- Consult with clients to understand their goals and provide thoughtful, personalized recommendations
- Deliver a consistently welcoming and professional client experience from consultation through checkout
- Maintain a clean, organized and professional workstation while following all studio hygiene and sanitation standards
- Educate clients on appropriate at-home hair care and recommend products when relevant
- Support the growth of the studio by encouraging rebooking and building strong, long-term client relationships
- Promote Angora Studio services and retail products in a genuine, client-focused way
- Collaborate with the Angora team to maintain a positive, professional and supportive studio environment
- Represent Angora Studio professionally, including through social media and other public-facing channels

Compensation

This is a commission-based employee position.

- Commission rate to be negotiated based on experience and seniority
- Expected annual earnings of approximately $60,000–$100,000+, depending on schedule, client volume and services performed
- Commission calculated and paid bi-weekly
- $1,500 annual learning and professional development budget (upon completion of probation period)
- Optional RRSP matching of up to 3% of eligible compensation




- Potential discretionary year-end bonus based on studio performance, client satisfaction and individual contribution

Schedule

We’re looking for someone who can maintain a consistent presence at the studio, with a minimum commitment of approximately 4 days per week.

There is flexibility in setting your schedule based on studio availability and client demand, while ensuring appropriate salon coverage across the team and a reliable experience for clients.

What We’re Looking For

- Professional experience as a Hair Stylist
- Strong cutting, styling and blow-dry skills
- Confidence conducting consultations and recommending services based on each client’s individual needs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Professional, reliable and comfortable working independently
- Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation and salon best practices
- Interest in ongoing education and developing your craft
- A cooperative mindset and willingness to contribute positively to the studio culture
- An existing clientele is an asset, but not required for the right candidate
