Axton Incorporated is an established custom fabrication and machining company located on Annacis Island in Delta, BC. Since 1976, Axton has manufactured custom industrial equipment including ASME pressure vessels, shell and tube heat exchangers, towers, columns, reactors, modules and other process equipment.

We are currently looking for experienced Fabricators to join our team.

These positions are suited to experienced tradespeople with a strong background in heavy industrial fabrication who can work from drawings and specifications to accurately fit and fabricate custom equipment.

Pay: From $46.00 per hour

PM Shift Premium: Additional $3.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts

Responsibilities

- Interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints and specifications
- Lay out, fit and fabricate components for pressure vessels, heat exchangers and other custom industrial equipment
- Work with carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy materials
- Fit shells, heads, nozzles, flanges, structural components and other vessel components
- Perform accurate measurements, layouts and fit-up
- Safely operate fabrication tools and equipment
- Work to Axton Quality Assurance requirements and project specifications
- Coordinate with welders, machinists, supervisors and Quality Assurance personnel
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area

Qualifications

- 10+ years of metal fabrication experience preferred
- Strong experience in heavy steel and industrial fabrication
- Pressure vessel and/or heat exchanger fabrication experience is a strong asset




- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints
- Strong layout, fitting and measurement skills
- Experience working with stainless steel and alloy materials is an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good safety record
- Reliable transportation to Annacis Island
