Job Summary The Holiday Inn Oakville @ Bronte is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Banquet Set-Up Staff to support the execution of meetings and events. This is a part-time position requiring a flexible schedule, including early mornings and overnight shifts, based on business needs. This is an active, hands-on position where you'll help bring events to life.

Banquet Set-Up Staff are responsible for preparing event spaces to specification, ensuring all rooms are set accurately and efficiently according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). This role is essential in delivering a seamless and professional event experience.

Key Responsibilities

Event Setup

- Set up banquet and meeting spaces in accordance with BEO specifications
- Move and arrange tables, chairs, linens, and equipment with a strong attention to detail and presentation
- Set tables with linens, china, glassware, cutlery and other required items
- Set up buffets, beverage stations, and service areas
- Reset rooms quickly and efficiently between events
- Assist with room decor and event signage when required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all banquet spaces and storage areas - ensuring the space is event-ready before guests arrive
- Support the banquet team to ensure events are executed smoothly and on time

Guest Service

- Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service
- Serve plated meals, buffets, beverages, and hors d'oeuvres - Replenishing stations as required
- Clean tables and maintain a clean and organized event space
- Respond to guests quickly and professionally
- Work cohesively with the kitchen team, event team, and management

Event Teardown

- Clear tables and return equipment to the appropriate areas




- Break down tables, chairs, buffets, and service stations
- Remove lines, dishes, glassware and equipment
- Assist with cleaning and resetting the banquet space
- Prepare rooms for upcoming events

Requirements

- Previous experience in banquet setup or a similar role is an asset
- A positive, skilled, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Excellent guest service skills
- Ability to read and execute BEOs accurately
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying 50+ pounds - comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and ability to work independently
- Flexible availability, including early mornings and overnight shifts
- Reliable and punctual
- Smart Serve Certification required

Compensation

- Expected Wage: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour
