Greenscape Design and Decor is currently seeking a full-time Holiday Decor and Custom Build Team Member to join our team, working primarily from our Burnaby warehouse with onsite work throughout the Lower Mainland as required.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building, making, decorating and installing. Depending on the successful candidate’s experience, design ability and leadership skills, the position may be hired at either our Holiday Team Member or Holiday Lead level.

At a minimum, we are looking for someone with good practical skills who is comfortable working with their hands. You should have basic carpentry or woodworking experience, familiarity with hand and power tools, and basic painting and finishing skills. You do not need to be an experienced Holiday decorator — we can teach our decorating methods and Holiday products to someone who brings the right hands-on ability, attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Our Holiday team creates and installs commercial Christmas décor, custom displays and seasonal environments for shopping centres, businesses and other commercial clients. Work can include decorating trees, wreaths and garlands; preparing décor and displays; building and finishing custom pieces; painting; assembling structures and set pieces; warehouse preparation; and installing and removing décor onsite.

What We're Looking For The successful candidate should have:

- Basic carpentry or woodworking skills and experience completing hands-on build projects.
- Experience using common hand tools and power tools safely and confidently.
- Basic painting, finishing and general fabrication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and care for the quality of finished work.
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to figure out how things go together.
- The ability to follow drawings, photographs, samples, design direction and technical instructions.
- The ability to work independently on familiar tasks once trained.
- Good organization and the ability to keep tools,



materials and work areas orderly.
- The ability to shift between custom builds, decorating, warehouse preparation and onsite work as project needs change.
- Reliable communication, follow-through and the ability to accept and apply feedback.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work with others with kindness, respect and professionalism.
- The ability to remain productive and focused during busy production and installation periods.

Additional Skills We'd Love to Find These skills are assets, not requirements. A candidate with some or all of them may be considered for our Holiday Lead level:
- Strong visual judgment and a natural eye for colour, scale, proportion, balance and composition.
- Experience translating a design concept or reference image into a finished piece.
- Experience creating prototypes, samples, mock-ups, props, displays or set pieces.
- Strong decorative finishing or detail work.
- Experience in visual merchandising, event décor, theatre, film/TV, scenic fabrication, retail display, floral design, interior design or a similar creative field.
- Experience leading a small crew or providing clear direction to other team members.
- Experience as an onsite or installation lead.
- The ability to identify design or fabrication challenges and suggest practical solutions.
- Experience with commercial Holiday décor

The Holiday Lead role specifically calls for strong visual judgment, the ability to interpret approved design direction, hands-on fabrication/decorating ability, mock-up creation and the ability to turn a visual concept into a practical finished piece.

The Work





This is a physically active position that includes warehouse, production and onsite work. Team members may be required to:
- Lift and carry items up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods and work while reaching, bending and moving in varied positions.
- Climb and work from ladders and, when appropriately trained, lifts.
- Load, unload and safely handle décor, tools, materials and equipment.
- Work indoors and outdoors depending on the project.
- Work occasional early mornings, evenings, nights and weekends during Holiday installation and strike periods.
