This is a paid apprenticeship opportunity for someone who is motivated to learn and develop hands-on skills in heat pump and air conditioning installation, maintenance, service, and repair.

You will work alongside experienced technicians and gain practical experience with ductless and ducted heat pump systems, air conditioning systems, electrical components, refrigerant systems, and HVAC equipment.

Duties

- Assist senior technicians with the installation of ductless and ducted heat pump systems.
- Assist with air conditioning system installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Help with mounting indoor and outdoor units, line-set installation, drain systems, wiring, and other installation work.
- Assist with refrigerant piping, insulation, brazing, and system preparation under the supervision of qualified technicians.
- Learn how to properly install, maintain, and service different types of heat pump and air conditioning systems.
- Assist with troubleshooting heating and cooling systems and identifying common equipment issues.
- Perform routine maintenance such as filter replacement, coil cleaning, outdoor unit cleaning, and system inspections.
- Assist with electrical and control wiring related to HVAC equipment under appropriate supervision.
- Learn to read installation manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Help technicians with system testing, commissioning, and performance checks.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and properly handle tools and equipment.




- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable workplace safety requirements.
- Provide professional and respectful service while working in customers' homes and properties.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong interest in heat pumps, air conditioning, refrigeration, or HVAC technology.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or previous experience working with tools is an asset.
- Previous construction, electrical, plumbing, automotive, or mechanical experience is an asset.
- Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to understand basic measurements and follow technical instructions.
- Ability to read or learn to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to doing quality work.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors and in different weather conditions.
- Valid driver's licence.
