Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Associate Lawyer with 2+ years of direct experience in immigration and/or refugee law.

The ideal candidate will be able to independently manage a diverse caseload, appear regularly before the IRB and FC. This is a strong fit for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment and shares our commitment to client-centered representation.

Key Responsibilities

- Represent clients before the IRB (including RPD, RAD, and IAD) and Federal Court (if applicable)
- Prepare and file H&C; applications, PRRAs, sponsorships, appeals, inadmissibility responses, and other immigration filings
- Conduct legal research, prepare written submissions, and review disclosure
- Liaise with clients, interpreters, community organizations, and government officials
- Manage and bill Legal Aid Ontario certificates




- Prior/current empanelment with Legal Aid Ontario, or willingness to be empanelled is REQUIRED.

Qualifications:
- Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in immigration and/or refugee law
- Must be on or willing to be on the Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) Immigration and Refugee Services roster
- Strong knowledge of IRPA, IRPR, and procedural fairness standards
- Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume caseload and appearing before the administrative bodies and/or Federal Court
- Excellent legal drafting and client communication skills

Pay: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
