Duties

- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs

- Operate vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse

- Empty trash cans and other waste containers

- Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings

- Clean and disinfect kitchen/bathrooms and fixtures

- Fulfill the necessary duties and obligations to always meet Ottawa Public Health requirements, including logging of necessary information. This includes Sanitization and Cleanliness of the kitchen, and food preparation
- The food is catered by an external company, however, the kitchen assistant will be responsible for receiving the delivered meals, portioning them, and serving them to the classrooms, while remaining attentive to allergies and dietary sensitivities.

- Help with laundry duties and any other requests by the Supervisor

- Perform all other duties as assigned the Childcare Supervisor

Requirements





- Legally able to work in Canada

- Current Standard 1st Aid and CPR Level C certification (requested upon job offer)

- Valid Vulnerable Sector Police check (requested upon job offer)

- Up-to-date immunization

- Food Handlers Certificate for at least one year, a must (requested upon job offer)

- A person who loves working with children up to 5 years of age

- Self-motivated and able to take initiative easily

- Reliable, dependable, and have a solid work ethic

- Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 50 lbs, bending and stooping, pushing, carrying and pulling.

- Ability to work within a team
