Senior Java Full Stack Developer

Location: Toronto, ON / Montreal, QC

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Contract: Contract Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer to join a collaborative technology team supporting a variety of engineering projects and day-to-day application initiatives.

This is a great chance for someone who enjoys working across backend and frontend development , collaborating with technical teams, and contributing to different projects in a supportive team environment.

What You’ll Do

- Develop new solutions and features for technology programs and projects
- Design, develop, test, and implement applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and enhance frontend applications using Angular
- Develop and maintain RESTful and other web services
- Perform unit and component testing and support testing cycles
- Participate in peer code reviews and maintain high-quality, defect-free code
- Support application enhancements, break/fix activities, and production issues
- Analyze technical requirements and recommend practical engineering solutions
- Collaborate with developers, technology partners, and other internal stakeholders
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and backlog activities
- Support incident management, troubleshooting, impact assessments, and resolution
- Document application components, infrastructure, integrations, and technical designs
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development, testing, and support processes

Must-Have Skills




- 8+ years of software development experience
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Strong experience with Angular
- Experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of application infrastructure and how applications interact with infrastructure
- Robust collaboration and communication skills
- Experience developing and integrating web services and APIs
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

Technical Experience Experience with several of the following:
- Java / Spring Boot
- Angular
- Node.js
- Tomcat / JBoss
- REST, SOAP, JAX-WS, JAXB2, JAX-RS, Web API
- Maven, Nexus, Jenkins
- Git, Stash, Bitbucket
- Oracle, SQL Server, and/or DB2
- Jira and Confluence
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery

Nice to Have
- Experience integrating with Guardwire
- Cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS
- Experience integrating with vendor products and third-party technology partners
- Experience within the banking and insurance space , particularly insurance-related applications
