Job Overview

TaxWise Accounting is looking for a junior bookkeeper to support our growing client base and help manage seasonal demand during tax season. This is a hybrid position, with roughly 20% of working hours in office and 80% working from home. Work schedule is versatile, but weekly commute to our Port Moody office is required. You may be asked to come into office more frequently during tax season and the training period.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient in accounting principles, passionate about providing excellent customer service, and eager to learn. As we serve multiple clients, the ability to manage multiple client files and meet deadlines is essential.

A background check, including criminal & credit checks, is required before an offer of employment is made.

JOB DUTIES

- Record transactions using QuickBooks Online and Xero.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Analyze sales data and post summaries into accounting software.
- Prepare financial statements.
- File GST and payroll returns.




- Follow up with clients to obtain missing documents.
- Perform administrative duties, such as photocopying and organizing documents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- At least one year of experience in bookkeeping, either through employment or study.
- Students in the second year of a two-year accounting diploma program are welcome to apply.
- Strong spoken and written English skills.
- Knowledge in MS Office and Google Workspace apps.
- Experience in income tax preparation is an asset
