Join Insite Construction Surveys Inc. as a Junior Construction Surveyor! We're hiring early-career surveyors for oil and gas projects in the Fort McMurray area. If you live locally, want to build your skills on active industrial sites, and take pride in getting the numbers right, we'd like to hear from you. What you'll do

- Assist with construction layout and as-built surveys for civil and structural projects
- Help stake underground utilities, foundations, and structural components
- Set up and operate GNSS and total station equipment under the direction of a senior surveyor
- Learn to interpret engineering drawings and site plans, and raise anything that doesn't look right
- Work alongside surveyors, project managers, and site crews to keep construction moving
- Record, download, and organize survey data
- Maintain clear field notes and sketches
- Look after survey equipment, supplies, and vehicles
- Take an active part in site safety meetings and follow all site-specific protocols

What you bring

- 0–2 years of surveying experience, or a diploma or certificate in geomatics, survey technology, or a related field
- Basic familiarity with survey equipment and field software, and an eagerness to learn more
- Comfort working outdoors in all weather on active construction sites




- Attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions
- Class 5 driver's licence with a clean record
- Residence in the Fort McMurray area, with the ability to travel to site daily
- Willingness to work a rotation schedule (10 days on, 4 days off, or similar)
- Current safety tickets (e.g. WHMIS, CSTS, First Aid, H2S Alive), or willingness to get them before starting

Nice to have

- Previous experience on oil and gas, heavy civil, or industrial sites
- Experience reading construction drawings
- Underground locate experience
- Interest in UAV or 3D scanning work
