Description
We’re looking for a CPI or engineer who is passionate about environmental issues and sustainable solutions to help design process mechanical and water treatment projects. From drinking water plants to pumping stations, you’ll contribute to concrete projects that make a real difference in communities, as part of a young and dynamic team.
Your responsibilities
Design and technical expertise
- Take part in the design of drinking water plants, wastewater treatment facilities, anaerobic digestion and composting facilities, pumping stations and other municipal and industrial infrastructure.
- Perform design calculations for treatment systems, select equipment and develop treatment trains, in collaboration with the design team and industry professionals.
- Propose innovative, sustainable and resilient solutions that meet technical and budgetary constraints.
- Carry out engineering project management tasks in support of project managers, based on your level of autonomy.
- Perform any other project-related tasks.
Documentation, estimating and compliance
- Prepare engineering reports, specifications and documents related to treatment processes.
- Estimate the costs of the works and proposed solutions.
- Prepare and support ministerial authorization applications to Québec’s Ministry of the Environment (MELCCFP).
Collaboration and field support
- Work closely with other disciplines.
- Take part in design reviews.
- Work hand in hand with the technical drafting teams.
- Provide technical assistance during construction and commissioning.
- Take part in site visits and inspections of the works, based on your autonomy and experience.
You’re the right person for this role if:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, water resources, mechanical or chemical engineering.
- You’re a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) as an engineer or as a Candidate to the Engineering Profession (CPI), or you’re in the process of becoming one.
- You have a strong interest in process mechanical engineering, water treatment (drinking water and wastewater), anaerobic digestion and automation, and you keep a close eye on industry innovations.
- You enjoy teamwork and communicate with rigour.
- You have a solid understanding of the legislative and regulatory framework for municipal infrastructure and the environment.
- You’re proficient with MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and BioWin is an asset (not required).
- You’re fluent in French, both spoken and written.
- You hold an ASP Construction card (construction site health and safety), a valid driver’s licence and have access to a car.
